Color is one of the 4C’s for Diamond Grading
The color is one of the most important criteria of grading diamonds.
By nature, diamonds come in a variety of colors. From white (colorless) to strong and rare colors (fancy).
Most diamonds come in a range of yellow and brown. These are considered the normal color range.
Comparing diamonds to this normal color range, the highest value is based on the absence of color (white, colorless), or beyond the color range, in presence of deep intense color (fancy colors: pink, purple, blue, red, green, orange).
Sometimes, for market trend purposes, diamonds can be treated to enhance their color. However, when it comes to selling, treated diamonds are less valuable than untreated, natural color diamonds.
Diamond certificates, also known as the 5th C, are important because they provide you with an essential report that validates the value and authenticity of your diamond. Having this certificate ensures that whether you buy or sell, you get exactly what the diamond is worth.
